Julia Noah, t-LMHC

I am currently a temporary licensed mental health counselor here at New Beginnings Counseling Service. I graduated from the University of South Dakota in 2020 with my B.S. in health science and psychology. I graduated with my master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Grand Canyon University in 2023. I began working in this field in 2020, when I started working with adults with mental illness at Optimae LifeServices. While working towards completing my master’s degree, I worked as a registered behavior technician and provided ABA therapy for children with autism. I completed my practicum and internship at a community mental health agency where I provided therapy to children, teens, and families.

I believe every person experiences life from their own unique perspective. Due to this, there is no such thing as a "one size fits all" approach to therapy. This is why I tend to draw from multiple theoretical orientations and techniques to match each client's specific needs.Theories I commonly use include cognitive-behavioral therapy, client-centered therapy, and play therapy. Beneath any therapeutic approach or technique, the foundation of a positive therapy experience lies in the therapeutic relationship. I believe that providing an empathetic and accepting environment is essential to building a strong therapist-client relationship.
